Our vision
To provide a space where people are prompted to think more deeply about their relationship with God – a place for reflection, rest and spiritual renewal.
Our mission
- We have an ecumenical outlook and encourage Christians from all denominational backgrounds and those who have no church connection to participate in our activities.
- We invite people towards a deeper awareness of God’s presence in everyday life.
- We offer a place for people to explore contemplative practices and spiritual disciplines as a pathway to enrich their own life with God.
- We encourage and engage with people who are seeking to deepen their relationship with God or exploring Christian spirituality.
- We support pastors and missionaries in their service.
Our goals
- To offer spiritual retreats for men and women from any denominational background.
- To host workshops and events that stimulate people’s thinking and engagement with the Divine.
- To facilitate groups with a contemplative prayer focus.
- To provide pastors (and their families) with a quiet place to stay when they need some time away.
- To offer accommodation and support to missionaries (and their families) as they return from overseas or take a break from service.
Who we are
Awaken Retreats opened in April 2021. The retreat centre’s vision and operations are shaped by input from Steven and Alison Tye and Scott and Dale Jones. The day to day running of Awaken Retreats is managed by Alison Tye.
